About Us
The Recreation program, or “Rec” as it’s more commonly called, is the foundation of our club, and is designed for players to develop skills and an appreciation for the wonderful game of soccer. Every season, St. Mary’s Soccer offers your player a fun and safe environment to learn about soccer, good sportsmanship, and the benefits of teamwork. Our Rec program is available to players ages 4–18 (still in school), regardless of experience and ability.
Age groups are determined by birth year, are adjusted each fall, and remain the same for the following spring season.
The St. Mary's Soccer Rec program has specific divisions for our younger players to best develop their individual soccer skills. For more information about these divisions, you can check out our Kiddie Kick (U04/U05) and Academy (U06/U07/U08) options.
If your players desire a more competitive environment and have a wish to further improve their skills, please take a look at our RecPlus and Travel programs.
Season
St. Mary’s Soccer has both a Fall and Spring season. Kiddie Kick has six (one-hour) sessions to complete their season. Each season for all other teams will typically include eight games.
Fees and Registration
St. Mary’s Soccer offers online registration before each new season begins.
Fees are $100 per player, with a $10 discount for each additional household player
The fee includes Maryland State Youth Soccer Association registration and insurance, league administration, coaching education, field use, jersey, and referee fees.
The fee does not include: shin guards, cleats, shorts, or a personal soccer ball.
Need-based financial aid is available through our Scholarship Program.
Teams
Below is an explanation of our registration process.
The system shows all available practice locations/times based on a player's age. Everyone has a fair opportunity to find the situation that works best for them. These spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. When a roster is full, no additional players will be added.
We cannot expand rosters beyond our set limits to give players their preferred placement. Expanding rosters takes playing time away from everyone and reduces the number of players available to other teams.
